Functionality Overview
The Model Health Revit Add-in tool is a powerful tool for maintaining and improving Revit model quality.
- Real-Time Data Collection
The add-in leverages existing Revit data without requiring additional parameters. It gathers relevant information from the model and imports it into custom dashboards.
- Custom Dashboards
The dashboards are designed to visually represent the collected data using dials. This allows users to quickly see the status of the model’s health.
- User Customization
Company admins can customize the range thresholds for the dials according to their company's standards, ensuring that the dashboards align with specific organizational requirements.
- Notification System
Each time the Revit model is opened or saved; a dashboard popup appears. This ensures that users are consistently aware of the model's health status. By default, the Overall Model Health will appear first.

File Size
Tracks the size of the Revit file, which can impact performance.
Number of Elements in Model
Counts the total number of elements, providing insight into model complexity.
Purgeable Elements
Identifies elements that can be purged to optimize the model.
Overall Health Dashboard
Provides a summary view of the model’s health based on a combination of at least three of the four preset metrics.
The overall health status is determined by analyzing the ranges of these metrics, giving users a comprehensive snapshot of the model’s condition.

With deep expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM), including Revit, CAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Robert has spent his career promoting the importance of model health and standardization in the architecture and planning industry.
Certified in BIM from the University of Washington, Robert’s passion for model integrity stems from his desire to help teams work more efficiently and avoid costly project delays.
